TEMECA FREEMAN: "Eye Candy Rising"

By Shamora Evans

Astrological Sign: Sagittarius

Measurements: 34-24-42

SM: LET'S BEGIN WITH AN INTRODUCTION. BRIEFLY, TELL OUR READERS A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF.

TEMECA: I'm a very down-to-earth individual who really doesn't do much. I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with my family. Most people would say that I have an easy-going personality. One thing that people don't kn
ow about me is that I absolutely hate to drive! Most people think that, since I'm a model, that I have this extravagant lifestyle. I'm just your typical everyday female.

SM: HOW DID YOU BEGIN MODELING WITH "SOUTH MODELS, LLC"?

TEMECA: I, actually, went to an "Eye Candy" show here, in Birmingham, Alabama, and I was watching all of the models, and I instantly became interested. I met Patricia Pickett at the show, and we exchanged contact information, and the rest is h
istory.

SM: WHAT PHOTO
GRAPHER DID YOU DO YOUR MOST RECENT PHOTO SHOOT WITH, AND WHAT WAS THE EXPERIENCE LIKE?

TEMECA: The last photographer I worked with was Derrick Blanks, in Atlanta
. This was a high fashion photo shoot. This particular photo shoot was very different from the previous type shoots that I've done. Overall, the experience was great, it definitely showed a different side of me.

SM: HAS IT ALWAYS BEEN YOUR DREAM TO PURSUE A CAREER IN MODELING?

TEMECA: No, my dream was to go to school and become a
nurse, but I guess that it wasn't in God's will for me.

SM: DO YOU HAVE
ANY OTHER CAREER GOALS THAT YOUR MODELING CAREER COULD HELP YOU ACHIEVE?

TEMECA: Someday I would like to own my own modeling and acting agency.

SM: WH
AT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE WHO ASPIRES TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL MODEL?

TEMECA: In this industry, you have to have thick skin. Always remember, everyone has an opinion that they're entitled to, but you have to take the criticism in stride, and don't let it bother you. You also have to learn to accept rejection. Most importantly, you need to love the camera; don't be afraid when the camera is on. Remember when a picture is take
n, that particular moment is captured. So, make sure the moment is everlasting.

SM: IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE AN AGENT/MANAGER TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL MODELING CAREER, AND WHAT ARE THE
"PLUSSES" AND "MINUSES" OF HAVING AN AGENT?

TEMECA: Having an agent is not necessarily needed, but it helps because it allows a model to focus on other aspects of modeling while the agent handles logistics, such as finding work, handling bookings/negotiations, and researching clien
ts to ensure credibility and professionalism. The main thing to remember is that success depends on the person. If you put in huge amounts of hard work and remain humble, success is sure to come.

SM: WHEN YOU GET A "DAY OFF" FROM MODELING, WHAT DO YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

TEMECA: I enjoy spending time with my family. It's imperative that I visit my mom and dad everyday! Most importantly, I enjoy being a role model to my daughter. She's my everything!

SM: WHEN YOU ARE MODELING, WHAT IS THE MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF YOUR JOB?

TEMECA: I would say taking pictures in general...I love the camera, I feel like it was in
vented just for me. [I'm] not being conceited, but you have to be confident in this industry.

SM: HOW CAN FANS AND/OR THOSE WITH BUSINESS INQUIRIES CONTACT Y
OU?

TEMECA
: For booking inquiries you can contact my agent at pdpickett@gmail.com. My fans can reach me at MySpace.com/lashuntae, Twitter.com/temecathemodel, www.bhammodelblog.com, Model Mayhem and Facebook. Check me out in the September/October '09 issue of "Black Men Magazine"!!

By Hard Knock

SM: Let the readers of S.T.I.L.L. Magazine know who Moet Da Diiva is? Give us a little background of yourself.

MoetDaDiiva: LOL!!! Lets see. MOETDADIIVA is an aspiring model, a very motivated, unique, determined, smart, independent young lady looking to take over. I a
m 21 years young, born in Harlem and raised in South Side Jamaica Queens. I am a full-time student and part time model. A BAD BITCH on a 24-hour clock…TICK TOCK!

SM: Your name sparks interest. Where did the name Moet Da Diiva come from?

MoetDaDiiva: Moet is my middle name. Yes, my birth certificate middle name (LOL…Don’t ask). And “Da Diiva speaks for itself. I’m just that. LOL!!!

SM: How did you get into modeling? Ho
w long have you been a model?

MoetDaDiiva: I have always been into the whole fashion thing, but Darell of “Harlem Beauty Queens” recognized me on the streets of Harlem when I was in high school at just 17 years old. My first event was Lloyd Banks’ B-Day Party 2 weeks later in April ’06. After that I fell in love with the whole “modeling” aspect. I’ve been progressing and taking it to heart ever since.

SM: I was browsing your MySpace page and saw you on the poster that
read Bad Bitchez Entertainment. What’s your affiliation with them?

MoetDaDiiva: BAD BITCHEZ ENTERTAINMENT is a female group of models, rappers, singers and dancers. Anything associated with entertainment we do it. The catch is that we are all BAD! Where they do that??? POWWW! LOL!!!

SM: I’m nosy right…lol…so I’m going through your pictures on MySpace and I see BTB (Bout That Bread)
…what’s up with that?

MoetDaDiiva: BTB is an up and coming label and BBE is signed to BTB.

SM: I got to ask this for the fellas (and myself), what are your measurements?

SM: So, what does a man have to do to capture the heart of Moet Da Diiva? What do you look for in a good man?

MoetDaDiiva: Be honest and loyal as possible. I look for a good looking guy of course (we have to compliment each other), someone supportive (I need that in my life with the goals I’m working hard to accomplish): motivated and focused (got to have a game plan), and hard working. (This guy sounds a lot like me…hmmm?) Someone to make me laugh ( I love laughing) and take me out. If he is an honest and loyal guy everything else falls into place with me. I don’t need to be taken out every weekend or thousands of dollars spent on me. I’m a very simple. Surprisingly it doesn’t take much to make me happy. LOL!!! (Yup…it’s me for sure!)

CASEY THE MODEL: "I Am What You Seek"

By Hard Knock

SM: Who is Casey The Model?
And where are you from?

CASEY: Casey The Model is the baby girl born in Castries, St. Lucia and raised
in the Bronx. I am a single mother, lover, risk taker, fashion bug and socialite. In one phrase “I am what YOU SEEK!”.

SM: The name Casey The
Model is quite unique as most models don't actually carry the actual title with their name. What's the reason behind your doing so?

CASEY: My goal in the industry is to break rules, push boundaries and set a new bar. My initials are C.M.S, so close friend, 2ew Gunn Ciz of YMBE Ent. blessed with the title Casey "The Model" Sampson. We both agreed my real name was unique enough, the title immediately informs everyone that I am" The Model" and my other endeavors are extra talents.

SM: How did you get into modeling?

CASEY: In 2007 I was blessed to be in Remy Ma's " Weatherman Video", it gained my exposure and open many doors. After a talk with the Queen (Remy Ma) she inspired me to officially enter the industry. Free Remy Ma!!

SM: Time for the question all the guys wants to know!
What are your measurements?

CASEY: 36-26-41 last time I checked, but I workout heavy so I'm sure i
t has got better.

SM: What do you think is your most valuable asset(s)?

CASEY: My most valuable asset is not that I have legs for days, or almost perfect lips, but that I have Knowledge of Self. (Peace to the Beautiful Earth!!!)

SM: What are your turn ons? Turn offs?

CASEY: I'm turned on by rare objects whether it’s a pair of pumps, or man focused on his grind. My biggest turn off is people who just talk and don’t follow up with actions.

SM: What's the wackest pick-up line you ever heard?

CASEY: I've heard so many I don't even listen,
never liked those type of dudes even in high school.

SM: You have a radio show called Greatness Under Surveillance that airs on Friday's from 5PM to & 7PM. Let us know the history behind that and where we can go to tune in to listen?

CASEY:
Greatness
Under Surveillance was inspired by Tikvah Productions. Last summer they monitored my life for weeks to observe my come up. The trailer is available on youtube.com/caseythemodel " Greatness Under Surveillance" Starring Casey " The Model". I will bring that same concept to my show, so if you’re the next great thing contact me, and tune in to Damatrixstudios.com

SM: I was recently checked you out interviewing DJ Webstar for Video City as one of their new hosts. How did you get that job?

CASEY: I actually had a few interviews on Videocity TV concerning a few projects I was working on. The owner loved my personality, after a few meetings, I became the new co- host holding down the Bronx Borough.

SM: What does the future hold for Casey The Model? Any new projects in the works?

CASEY: They are no b
oundaries!!! I just got warm and I'm nowhere near scorching yet. There's a lot to look forward to, magazines, mix-tapes, events and much more... I will sleep when I'm dead!

SM: Where can fans go to keep up and in contact with you?

CASEY: Fans go to MySpace.com/iamwhatyouseek and just follow the links to my other sites.

Meet "AJA": Model, Boxer, Entrepreneur

By Shamora Evans

SM: How long have you been modeling?

AJA: I’ve been modeling since about 2005. And, I started by just walking in to a model call at Fashion Week, in D.C., in 2005, and that’s how I got my start. It was actually a little scary being in front of all those people, but it worked.

SM: HAD YOU ALWAYS DESIRED TO BECOME A MODEL?

AJA: I never desired to become a model, it just kinda happened. But it worked, so I go with it. I’m, actually, working toward owning my own restaurant, and that is my one and only goal right now.

SM: WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP YOUR BODY IN SHAPE?

AJA: Box, actually! (Laughs) My boyfriend turned me into a MMA (mixed martial arts) freak, so I enjoyed watching the fighting techniques. I love boxing, and I work out on my arms a lot, and I pretty much keep my body in the same shape. I just do a good core workout because weights will damage you…It’ll cause your breasts to get smaller and turn them from fat to muscle.

SM: What do you do when your not modeling?

AJA: I’m an entertainment talent manager. I manage a couple people, but I stopped for a while to take care of my restaurant business. But, anything as far as entertainment goes, I’m pretty much in it, as far as what’s going on in Baltimore.

SM: WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT MODELING?

AJA: Getting to dress up and dress out, and put make-up on, and be half-naked with an excuse! (Laughs) The things you can’t wear out in public, you get to wear in the photo shoot. And I really enjoy the traveling and making money.

SM: WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE LEAST?

AJA: You always gotta make sure you look good, and it kinda sucks. I have this thing where I refuse to walk out the house to go to the trash because someone might see me out there, and you always have to look
good.

SM: WHAT PHOTOGRAPHERS HAVE YOU WORKED WITH?

AJA: I’ve worked with a photographer from “SHM”, and I have a photo shoot today, actually, with a photographer named Joseph Outlaw. I’ve also worked with photographer and fashion designer, Victor Hou, and he does a lot of photography at a lot of fashion shows.

SM: DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

AJA: I paint when I’m bored, and I love cooking! I am a cooking fanatic, I definitely love to cook. Honestly, though, all I’ve been doing for the last few years is working my butt off. I love animals; I love playing with animals, but that’s about it.

SM: HOW CAN YOUR FANS KEEP UP WITH YOU?

AJA: Well, they can definitely use your magazine to contact me, or they can use my MySpace page, MySpace.com/ajaart.

SHAMANDA BURSTON: "She's Focused"

By Shamora Evans

SM: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MODELING, AND HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START?

SHAMANDA: I've been modeling “off and on” for about three years now. I would say that I officially started modeling May 2008 because that’s when I became committed and focused on modeling. I began modeling when a friend of mine introduced me to her agent, and I went on from there.

SM: HAD YOU ALWAYS DESIRED TO BECOME A MODEL, OR DID YOU INITIALLY HAVE ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL GOAL?

SHAMANDA: As a young girl, I was always teased about being skinny; as an African-American female, being skinny is sometimes considered “taboo”. (Laughs) Everyone always said I was beautiful, but due to the lack of self-esteem, I didn’t believe them. One day, I realized that I could use something that I thought was negative for something positive, so that’s what initially gave me the desire to begin my modeling career.

SM: ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MANY ASPIRING MODELS OFTEN DON’T REALIZE IS HOW COMPETITIVE THE MODELING INDUSTRY TRULY IS, AND MOST PEOPLE DON’T REALLY KNOW HOW MUCH GOES INTO PRODUCING THE PHOTOS THEY HAVE BEFORE THEM. SO, GIVE US AN EXAMPLE OF HOW THE PHOTO SHOOT PROCESS TAKES PLACE.

SHAMANDA: Many people believe that photo shoots are as simple as dressing up, having a photographer snap your picture, and you're done. (Laughs) There is much more to a photo shoot than that! A model has to be in shape and always photo shoot/modeling gig ready at all times. The photo shoot process begins long before the actual shoot. A model and the photographer must mutually agree on the time and date of the shoot and the theme, compensation, etc. A professional photo shoot consists of a concept, or theme, the perfect location to shoot, a make-up artist, wardrobe stylist, hairstylist, awesome photographer, and an outgoing, energetic model that knows how to pose and work the camera.

SM: AND, IN ORDER TO DO A GOOD PHOTO SHOOT, YOU HAVE TO BE IN SHAPE. SO, WHAT DO YOU DO TO KEEP YOUR BODY IN SHAPE?

SHAMANDA: Many models say that it’s just “good genes”. (Laughs) I can honestly say that! I have a digestive disease that makes it hard for my body to digest my food, so I’m naturally small. I actually workout to GAIN weight! (Laughs) I work out five times a week doing exercises, such as squats, lunges, and calf-raises.

SM: SO, FOR THE FELLAS OUT THERE WONDERING, WHAT ARE YOUR MEASUREMENTS?

SHAMANDA: My measurements are 32-25-34.

SM: DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CAREER OUTSIDE OF MODELING?

SHAMANDA: I am currently working on my Associate's degree in Business Administration and Psychology. My ultimate educational goal is to earn my M.B.A and Ph.D. in Psychology!

SM: WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE MOST ABOUT BEING A MODEL?

SHAMANDA: The thing that I like most about modeling definitely has to be meeting new people and other models that have the same goals as me and feeding off of their positive energy. I also love the fact that modeling has helped me inspire and motivate other mothers that have dreams that they would still like to pursue, although they have children.

SM: AND WHAT THINGS DO YOU LIKE THE LEAST ABOUT MODELING?

SHAMANDA: The thing that I least like about modeling is having to be away from my kids sometimes, but it’s a bittersweet situation because I know at the end of the day, I have two beautiful people to come home to, and that makes it so much better and motivates me more.

SM: WHAT PHOTOGRAPHERS HAVE YOU HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH?

SHAMANDA: Wow...I've actually shot with some great photographers such as Kehinde Patterson, Brandy Wine Bullman, Christi Falls, Yeng Moua, Lisa Moua, Dominic Gray, Robert Christopher, and many more. My very first professional photo shoot was with Kehinde Patterson. He shot my first three shoots, and he gave me great feedback, which gave me the confidence to really pursue modeling. Shout out to him for the "push" that I needed! (Laughs)

SM: DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES, OR THINGS YOU ENJOY DOING IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

SHAMANDA: I’m a college student and mother, so all the things that come along with that really tie me up, but I’m actually in the studio with “C-Boi Productions” working on music. I love reading “ZANE” novels, surfing the web, shopping with my mom and talking with my dad. He's a really big motivator, and I can talk or listen to him for hours. Most of all, I love spending time with my kids!

SM: HOW CAN YOUR FANS KEEP UP WITH YOU, AND HOW CAN AGENTS CONTACT YOU?

SHAMANDA: My fans can definitely hit me up on my MySpace page, which is www.myspace.com/uniquemodel88, and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/ShamandaB. Agents, I’m free and looking for great management...You can email me at bookshamandab@yahoo.com (Serious Inquires Only, Please) and, to check out my work, visit www.modelmayhem.com/121055. I love you guys, and thank you so much for all the love and support!!!

JAE MICHELLE - "Beautiful Mind & Body"

By Shamora Evans

Name: Jae Michelle

Hometown: Compton, California

Sign: Cancer

Measurements: 34-27-34

Website: Upnextis.com

League: Majors!!!

S.T.I.L.L.: At what age did you begin modeling?

JAE MICHELLE: I began modeling at 21, like, ‘This is what I wanna do as a career’. So, when I was little, my mom took me to audition, and I went to a McDonald's commercial audition, but when I was a kid, I was really, really shy. Then, when I got older, me and my friend would go to take photos at this local photo studio, like, every day, and people would tell me that I was very pretty. Then, I started really getting into modeling and the agencies when I turned 21.

S.T.I.L.L.: WHAT TYPE(S) OF MODEL ARE YOU?

JAE MICHELLE: I would like to do commercial print [modeling], but right now, I do lingerie and bikini modeling. I have a photo on my MySpace that I was like 21 or 22 in, but what I'm noticing now in the industry is that a lot of girls are being “video models”. I would like to do an ad campaign; at some point, I want to get into print.

S.T.I.L.L.: DID YOU ATTEND A MODELING SCHOOL, OR WERE YOU "DISCOVERED"?

JAE MICHELLE: No, I didn't attend a modeling school. I was selected to attend a modeling school called “John Robert Powers” when I was in the mall (when I was 19), and they called me back for an audition, and I read. But, we went to a modeling agency, and they told my mom, “Don't let them sell you a portfolio”. So, I started modeling myself and started looking online and finding photographers, and I found one that told me the best thing to do is to continue taking pictures, and just always keep them updated. So, basically, I discovered myself! (Laughs) But, technically, I haven't been "discovered" yet...

S.T.I.L.L.: HAVE YOU EVER BEEN A VIDEO MODEL, OR WOULD YOU EVER CONSIDER BEING A VIDEO MODEL?

JAE MICHELLE: Yeah, I've been a video model before. I was in my friend's video; he has a rap group called "Fly Society", and the members are "H.I.T", “TK.” (the pro skater, which is the Captain of Pharrell’s skate team), and "Currency" (who used to be signed to Lil Wayne). And, I was in their video called "Fresh", and "Hit" asked me to be his feature model in the video. But, I was also asked to be in T.I.'s video, "What You Know", and I was in the first season of "Wild 'N Out" doing a lot of audience appearances for the show, and in 50 Cent's "Refuse to Die" video on HBO.

S.T.I.L.L.: IF YOU WERE ASKED TO BE A MODEL IN A HIP HOP ARTIST'S MUSIC VIDEO, WHOSE VIDEO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO APPEAR IN?

JAE MICHELLE: OMG! If I had a choice, it would be Plies. I love Plies!! (Laughs) I like videos that have, like, one girl, and she's really sexy, or really pretty; none of that “hoochie mama” stuff. I like the more mature rappers that have, like, one chick, just a single featured girl, like maybe Kanye.

S.T.I.L.L.: IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR MAGAZINE(S) THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE THE COVER MODEL FOR?

JAE MICHELLE: When I first started modeling, my goal was to be in KING Magazine, but since they're no longer in production, I would say the next best thing would be Smooth or Black Man Magazine (if they still have that magazine) would be another one.

S.T.I.L.L.: WHAT, IN YOUR OPINION, IS THE BEST PART OF BEING A MODEL?

JAE MICHELLE: The best part of being a model, for me, is that I get to take pictures. I LOVE to do it; that's something that I enjoy doing. I have a website called SpillthaBeanz.com, and with me being able to take pictures, most people don't tend to read unless there's something to attract them to it. So, I like being a model because it helps me to show off my writing talent because they're drawn in by my looks first. Also, it's fun because I get to meet a lot of people.

S.T.I.L.L.: TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST PROFESSIONAL PHOTO SHOOT.

JAE MICHELLE: My very first photo shoot was with a guy that I met offline, and I didn't really know what to expect because it was my first time meeting him and working with him before. And, before we shot, his wife was a make-up artist, and she put soo much make-up on me. But, when you go to my MySpace, the black and white photo was the result of my first photo shoot, and I had like four or five outfits, and I was a little nervous, but it turned out good. I still get compliments on that photo shoot to this day.

S.T.I.L.L.: ASIDE FROM MODELING, DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CAREER(S)?

JAE MICHELLE: When I'm not modeling, I write poetry. I’d like to go to ‘spoken word’ poetry, but I don't know where any really are. One day, I want to be an author but, for now, I just write on my blog site, and eventually, I want to do hosting. Right now, I'm just doing write-ups on spillthabeanz.com and taking pictures. I’m also going to school for Journalism because I want to be a writer one day.

S.T.I.L.L.: WHAT DO YOU HOPE YOUR MODELING CAREER WILL HELP YOU ACHIEVE IN THE FUTURE?

JAE MICHELLE: With my modeling career, I hope to host on TV on, like, E!, BET, MTV, VH-1, and veejaying is okay, I guess, but that's temporary…I don't really wanna do that. I want people to not just see me as a pretty face and, read my writings, and see my work. I just hope that my modeling leads me to be a really successful host, and work, in entertainment television. I want people to think that what I say (in my opinion) is important, like, "Well, Jae Michelle says...". (Laughs)
